PRESENTATION:
Scientific English is directly related to Physiotherapy. It consists of 5 blocks:Introduction to Physiotherapy and study skills, the Body and Movement, the Clinical Interview, Soft tissue injuries and Academic Texts. The main aim of this subject is to activate and develop your reading , writing, speaking and listening skills in English so that you can perform professional tasks such as giving instructions to patients for exercises and stretches; participating in a clinical interview, recognizing symptoms, describing injuries and suggesting initial treatment. You will also develop key academic competences like understanding academic texts, and distinguishing between registers (technical and colloquial). In addition, this subject will help you to participate more actively in other subjects where English is integrated (Fundamentals of Physiotherapy,Kinesiotherapy, Anatomy). By the end of the course we hope you will be more confident about using English as a necessary tool in your professional and academic life.
