PRESENTATION:
The purpose of the subject is to help students develop their capacity to think critically and creatively about aesthetic aspects in architecture. The object of aesthetics is the beautiful which the students will become familiar with through readings and visuals that open up for discussion and further research. Along the course, the students will acquire concepts and competences which will enable them to explain their own proposals of how to take into account and critically highlight aesthetic aspects in architecture. This entails the capacity to read texts and images as well as buildings and landscapes in order to find and extract not only the relevant knowledge about the beautiful, but also about the absence of beauty and what this entails for each human being and for society as such.
